DDs Feet turning purple
My DDs feet keep turning purple when I hold her upright, it's really weird, has anyone else had that problem??? She's teething right now, but I don't see how that would effect her teeth. I'm at a loss.
Is she getting enough circulation???? I would call HCIL. Your husband is Military right? Tricare's number is 1-800-213-5453. They are open 24/7 and its free. They are there to answer you questions big and small. They helped me out a lot when I had ds.
I would also think circulation problem and would want it looked at immediately. It may well be nothing, but there is always the possibility that it is a symptom of something that needs further exploration - why take the chance?
My son had the same problem, he feet would turm purple every time we held him upright. The dr said that it could be the way we were holding him if we held on too tight or at a weird angle for him but it wasn't anything to worry too much about, just watch for it to get worse but it never got too bad, we just started to hold him more in a cradled position when we help him and it seemed to stop alteogether. He is fine now that he is older. (18 months) I don't know how old your dd is but he was about 2 months to 9 months when he did that.
I would take her in just to be on the safe side. I'm sure everything is fine, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Let us know what you find out. I'm interested to know.
I agree with ladypeacek. My sil was holding her son one night before dinner and she had his butt on her arm and his legs and feet were purple. She freaked started screaming and yelling wanting us to call 911. We got her calmed down enough to call the dr. and told him what was happening and he was real calm and told her could it of been the way you were holding him. Needless to say it was. But go with you gut.
I know for a fact that poor circulation can cause your feet to turn purple, as can blood pooling in your lower limbs and feet. I have this happen because of certain medical problems, and cannot ever take showers because of it. However, it can also be exactly what the others said about holding in a certain way, etc. My point, there are many things from nothing to something it could be, and it is definitely something worth checking out. I wouldn't wait to see if it just goes away. It could be nothing, or it could be a red-flag symptom. I wouldn't ignore it, myself. Good luck and prayers to you. Just stay calm and don't jump to conclusions. And don't let that baby know you are worrying! I'm sure everything is just fine.
I took her to the ER yesterday and the Dr. said it's just poor circulation, she does have a little viral infection though, but it's getting better, thanx for the advice all!
I'm so glad to hear she is doing better !
