She isn't house trained!
OK, so she is potty trained as far as outings go. She will hold it until we get her to the bathroom when we are out.....At home, thats another story. She is not house broken. I dared to take her out in her panties today and we ran errands. Not one accident and we were out for a few hours. She told me when she had to go and even waited her turn inline for the potty. We were not home 15 min and she had an accident (#1). About 30 min later she had another accident (this time #2) and she got it everywhere. It wouldnt be so bad if she didn't take her panties off and hide them after these accidents. We went to the movies tonight on base and again not one accident. She even told me in the middle of the movie that she had to go. We were home 5 min and she had an accident. Does she not like the house? I don't understand. We don't have any boxes out that she can see. We may have 10 boxes total out in the garage that still haven't been opened but the house is pretty much put away.
How old is she? Your profile says 2, but I'm guessing she's closer to 3 by now. ?? Potty training was touch and go for months with both of my kids. It didn't happen over night. They would do great at times and then have accidents when I least expected it. Two steps forward and 3 steps back. LOL! In your case, with the recent move, I would expect set backs. Boxes unpacked or not, it's still a BIG change for child. Frustrating, I know! Keep it positive and she'll get it eventually. Hang in there!
Wow, I think that is pretty impressive! My DD, nearly 3, won't even sit on the potty. She did for a little bit and was even starting to poop on the potty. Not anymore. I'm just not going to push her. She's home with me and I don't mind following her cues. BTW-My DD has never told me when she had to go! So, I think you are ahead of the game. I would be thrilled if my DD could go out and about and tell me when she had to go with no accidents! She won't even sit on a big potty! I would be thrilled if I were in your shoes!
Oh I'm thrilled that she is trying and doing really well...specially outside of the house. She just turned 2 in November. I think I am just not "ready" for her to do this and its fustrating. Dh left for 8 weeks on Wednessday and although the majority of the unpacking is done, I still have a lot of little things to do and I know I'm just being selfish but she is my last one and is growing up way to fast. She is very stubborn. She refuses to wear diapers....She takes off her pull ups. She will wear panties and leave them on until she wets and then she hides them.
I think my kids thought it was more fun to go potty in public than it was at home.
My only advice is try to spend as much time out of your house as possible! Once she really gets the hang of it, at home she won't want to be wet either. It will click, it just takes time!
Maybe incentive time??? Star chart, etc??? She is doing great. Be gretaful you do not have to find her panties in the middle of a store! ROFL. IT is hard , but it will pass.
lol Missy3. She is doing a little better. I bought her a M&M dispenser (the yellow one in the lazyboy chair) off ebay and she only gets the M&M's after she goes on the potty. She loves to pull the lever on his chair to dispense the M&M's. We are down to 1-2 accidents a day. One of her accidents yesterday wasn't her fault. The bathroom door some how got locked and I couldn't get it unlocked fast enough. We have 2 bathrooms but she insists on using hers (its decorated in Pooh).
Well we are down to about 1 accident a day also. But today dd decides to do number 2 in her pants at my hairdressers house. Luckily I had extra clothes ect... My hairdresser was very nice about it. I was just worried she had gotten it on something but there was not actually to much to clean up. Pullups would be so much easier but she just treats them like diapers.
I spoke too soon yesterday. She went #2 in her panites 3 times yesterday along with #1 2 times. sometimes I wonder if she is truely ready or not. Should I keep trying or should I just give up and wait a little while. She is only 2 years and 2 months.
I guess I wouldn't push it, but I wasn't very pushy when it came to toilet training. I don't think I would want to clean up that many messes in one day. My kids were 3-1/2 before they were potty trained. (It drove my mom nuts, let me tell you!)
