OMGoodness!!!
We're on fall break right now so today I took my two ds's, 8 and 10, two 3yo dc girls and one 5yo dc boy to the playground at the school. There were about 6-10 other kids there, all under 6 or so. After about 1/2 hour it cleared out to just the five I had and two other sets of boys. Both sets were about 3 and 5yo's. They started trying to play with each other, but I'm thinking personalities just we're meshing because these kids were just butting heads big time. The one mom kept telling her kids to "stay away from them if they're being mean" and "Don't play with mean kids". The other mom didn't seem to be paying attention (sitting and reading a magazine). Well finally this other mom gets up and gets into mom1's face telling her to "stop telling my kids what to do". Let me tell you, it got ugly!!! I ended up running out to where my 5 were and gathering them all up to keep them out of the way. These moms are just yelling at each other in front of all these kids! Then the one (mom2) starts to walk away and mom1 say "I can see where the kids get it". Well mom2 turns around and says "Excuse me???" A couple comments later she suggests they just "drop this before it goes any further". Mom1 says "where's it going to go?" Mom1 finally takes her boys and leaves and I then had a good discussing with my 5 about how this whole ordeal made them feel and what these moms could have done differently. Mom2's kids about 5 minutes later started throwing pea gravel at my kids so ds1 went and told her her kids were throwing rock at us and she says (to me when I confirmed what ds said), "Figures, he's not mine." She then takes the two kids and leaves. What an experience! lol I made sure to tell dc parents what happened so if their kids mentioned it they wouldn't worry. Some kids PARENTS!!!
OMGoodness is right!!
Sheesh, not just another day at the park huh? Some kids PARENTS is right.
Good grief! I think you handled it very well, if that's any consolation! :-)
Geez Louise, what a scene!! Motherhood taking its toll, by chance??
LOL - I would have stayed for the whole thing, had some popcorn and a front row seat & that would let the kids know how lucky they are that they don't have to deal with THAT every day hahaha- I'm JUST KIDDING everyone!!!!
OMG!!! That was an exciting trip to the park, eh? hehehe
Wow! It does sound like you handled it very well. Can you say double PMS? LOL
Are you sure your weren't in a wrestling match? Only kidding, then parents wonder why their kids turn out they way they do...
