They are doing this with my son in ot. I don't know seems like a good idea. I think it is for developing the ability to do two things at once. Helping a person to elimiate distrations.

We have the Mozart Modulation on now. We ordered the Ease series too...

I think (not sure though) this was a possiblitity for my ds at one point who also needs OT (for sensory integration disorder). Is this "audiotory retraining?" If so, lots of people apparently do this, but there is only one place in the country that she would recommend and that is in DC. THat would be a huge commitment for us (3 weeks in a hotel) so we have held off. He also has been diagnosed with ADD and has started meds which have helped him considerably with these issues- so it doesn't seem like we'll need to di it anyhow. (His primary diagnosis is Tourette's).

I believe the theraputic listening is for integrating the senses. Here is more links:

I am so not an expert in this subject. My son is visually distracted so I believe this is to help him learn not to be so distracted. Learn to do two things at once. (My husband can not do two things at once.)

Ot is very good for ADD....

This was recommend by the OT teacher. It does not need head phones she said. It is also pretty reasonable ($18.00)

We have been using it with ds when he is on the computer. He used to turn music off if he was doing something. He didn't want to do two things at once (Listen to music and draw)

We are going to transfer the cd to tape and play in car too.

These are the ease cds

These must be used with head phones and are $59.00 each... Ouch...

"It is important to note that EASe is not a cure for anything, especially ADD, Autism, ADHD, etc. EASe can help DESENSITIZE an individual to common noise thereby allowing other methods of intervention to be more effective. We frequently see improvements in a child such as improved language, eye contact, affection, balance, etc. However these secondary effects of EASe are a result of the child's ability to experience the world through their now uncluttered senses and the resulting neurological growth not as a direct result of EASe."

This article mentions auditory training and theraputic listening but I can't tell if it the same thing...

From the kidspeech article, it looks like it's different....

I recognize the Ease cd mentioned. I like the fact that this therapy can be done at home with a $18(without headphones) or $54(with headphones) cd.

Here is more Sound Music Therapies discussed.
