...given up the nap. It's been over a month without a nap, offered daily, never taken. It's weird that I'm really not even thinking about it anymore when it used to be such an important part of the day. I really thought that starting preschool would mean at least 2 days a week would be nap days, but that doesn't seem to have made a difference. She goes to bed a bit earlier, which is nice in the evenings, and I don't even mind that she doesn't nap. If we're home, I offer it to her with quiet time in her room (she plays the entire time, never even stays in bed). If we're out and about, I just don't worry about it because I know she's fine without it. Isn't is crazy how far you come with all these phases? From 2 long naps a day once upon a time to none at all and fine with it. Just another step in growing up.
Yes, it is!
I don't think dd has taken a nap since she was 2 1/2 unless she was getting sick. It was tough for me giving up the naps.
Sarah gave up the nap thing, when she was 2-1/2. She would stay in her room, but not sleep and cause naughtiness, like emptying the diapers out of the bag and playing with the powder. I just finally gave up.
Dawn, that cracks me up...only bc it's not happening to me! LOL! I have to lie down with Connor now, but it's kind of nice to just lie down in the dark and relax. He fights them, but he still needs them. If he doesn't take a nap, he's still up til 9pm anyway.
Yeah, the powder mess was a doozie! I made her help me vacuum it up! The diaper mess wasn't that messy, just annoying, becuase once you take them out of the packaging, they never all fit in there again!
