Another Potty Training Question

We are doing diaper at night, but he is waking up dry in the morning, but I guess it's just extra security for me knowing that he won't wake up in the middle of the night all wet. He has had a few poopy mistakes in his underwear at naptime and I'm wondering if I should put him in a pull-up at nap time or is this just too confusing and might delay the process? Any thoughts? What did you do? Thanks for all the help.
Natalie trained easily at 2. We did a pull-up at nap a few weeks in because she was having some dry naps, but ultimately she still pees at nap about 50% of the time. She's never been dry once at night and still pees a TON at night, so I'm not even doing the nighttime thing until she shows that she's more ready. She still wears a pull-up at nap at the moment, although I'm considering giving that up at naptime only. She's definitely not ready at night, but showing some readiness for naps. I just needed to wait until I got another mattress pad! LOL
I think you should do what works best for you... Diapers mean less clean up time after naps and bedtime.. And that is the route I took... but only you know your son..
I always used pull ups for naptime and bedtime for the first month or so after my kids seemed fully trained. It makes clean up easier and accidents less traumatic. I explained that this was sleepy-time underwear and we needed it because sometimes when we are asleep we can forget that we use the potty. Helen will be three in September and is totally trained, day and night. She had been asking me to wear underwear to bed and I told her if she had one more week of a dry-pull up she could wear special nighttime underwear. I got her some training underwear that will minimize an accident should she have one while sleeping. She had a very small leak only once since. Ditto Bobby. Do what is best for you and your child. I did not find that the pull up confused my kids at all -perhaps because I only started using them when they were close to fully trained. Good luck. Ame
