Recall due to lead poisoning... http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml07/07212.html
Wow! Thanks, Trina. I think my son has alot of these, it's hard to tell if they are the recalled ones because Thaomas has been around for so long, and there is no code on them ... Ame
I know what you mean, Ame. We have a large collection of the wooden Thomas railroad characters and pieces so I was concerned, however, the notice states the toys recalled were manufactured between 2005-2007. Ours were all purchased between 1998-2001. I'm guessing they must have changed manufacturers at some point, otherwise wouldn't this have been an issue before??
Sure it would. I think we began our big Thomas the Tank buying spree in 2004, so some of ours could be part of the recall. My kids are way past the chewing on toys stage, I wonder if I should bother - but then I think if I give them away somewhere, I no longer have control over them and a little one may be at risk . Ame
My DS was a HUGE Thomas fan from ages 2-5. He played with his Thomas railway A LOT, literally for hours at a time. I would think if it was an issue back then it would have been caught during a routine lead poisoning test or DS would have shown lead poisoning symptoms. I'm not going to worry about it for now, but will keep an eye on this recall to see if it's expanded.
