Pressing flowers

Can anyone give me advice on how to do it? I saw this great idea in a catalog that had pressed flowers in a picture frame. The artist gets them from her own garden and sells 8 of them for $559. That's waaaaay too much for me. So I figured I could try a do-it-yourself thing. Where do I start???? TIA
I know you can buy little pressing kits at michaels and such. I tried as a child to press flowers and only recall them looking ugly. There has to be a secret to keeping them pretty and bright colored!
I googled and posted but forgot to make my post final. Anyhow, if you google - pressed flowers how-to, you will find on the first page a number of sites. One of the early sites directed to kids tells you how to make your own flower press. I'll see if I can find it. Here it is: http://www.vandycks.com/kids/projects/flowerpressing/default.htm And here's a site where the owner is now selling pressed flower arrangements, but has lots of links to what look to be good advice sites: http://www.preservedgardens.com/how-to-press.htm and here's the e-how page http://www.ehow.com/how_1350_press-flowers.html
Cool deal! Thanks for the links.
I've pressed and framed lots of flowers! I hang them upside down for about a week so they are completely dry. Then I simply put them in the pages of a very thick book(and one you don't mind damaging) until they are flat. I love pressed flowers in frames. I'm sure there's more that you can do than just the way I do it, but I've had most of mine for years and years and they still look just as great as the first day. I think the key is drying them out.
