Ideas for wedding cards/scrapping?
Moms View Message Board: Arts, Crafts, Gardening and Ideas: Ideas for wedding cards/scrapping?
Dh and I have been married for 7 years. I'm a scrapper and recently started working on a scrapbook of 'us'.I found a box FULL of wedding cards yesterday...every one we ever got from showers and the wedding. Is there anything creative I could do with some of these in the way of scrapbooking? There are like 200 so most of them will get trashed anyway, but I didn't want to throw them away and then get a cool idea later. I have already found one card with a saying that I LOVED that I will use somewhere in the scrapbook. Any ideas are much appreciated!
I recently found all of ours, too, and was thinking about doing the same thing. I think I'm going to put them all in a scrapbook, and maybe just put some stickers on the pages. I think it will be nice to look back on them in the years to come. Ditto the shower cards. I might make a couple of pages for each shower, and then put the cards with the pics. Looking forward to hearing ideas from other scrappers....
Creative memories makes pages to hold cards, you could just go for that option. You could also do a collage of cards, cut out the sayings or the signatures tightly and then back with color and trim close and arrange, think year book page.
I like the idea of doing something with the signatures, because when I read through them all they were from people we haven't seen since then or didn't even remember sent us something, etc. We were like "oh that was so nice!"....LOL
I am going to start Chris' and my book soon too. I was thinking of the same thing about the cards. That's so funny. I really like Kaye's idea. I may do that.
New idea, but you could make a border for around the pages with the signatures. If you had enough for most of the book, or just the gift pages, or something like that. Cut them all uniformly in height like 1 inch by whatever, then cut 12 inch strips by 1 1/2 inch and then glue them on touching. Then glue those strips around the 4 edges.
