Pumpkin plant..

This is so odd.. In the crack of our driveway actually between the driveway and where the cement begins by the front door(if that makes sense).A couple months ago we noticed something growing between this crack. I assumed it was just weeds, but it kept growing and growing, and there were yellow flowering buds on it.. I couldnt figure it out, we hadnt planted anything in years, and certainly not in the crack of the drive way .LOL...A friend said its definitely a pumpkin plant? And what we could figure is every fall we get a hay bale and buy 3 pumpkins for decoration to keep outside.. After Halloween, by the time they pumpkins have just about rotted, my husband throws them in the trash can. So we figure we just lost some pumpkin seeds, and they ended up in the crack of the driveway.. There are all kinds of yellow flowers on it, and my husband has seen 2 small little pumpkins starting to grow,. we are all amazed here this pumpkin plant has grown with no care, except the rain..
Does anybody know if this plant will survive, and how big will the pumpkins be? I need to get the digital camera out and take a picture of our little pumpkin patch :)
Anybody ever grow pumpkins before?

I grow pumpkins every year. Can you transplant them? They grow well if you make a hill (wider than a dinner plate and a few inches high) and put the plants in it.

They still might grow in the driveway, so if you can't move them, leave them along and just water them and see what happens. Don't worry if some of the yellow flowers fall off. Squashes (pumpkins) produce fake blossoms as well as ones that will turn into pumpkins. As the flower begins to wilt, you'll see a pale green bump at the base of the blossom. If it's a pumpkin and not a false blossom, it will begin to get bigger. Some people, once a pumpkin is definately growing, will pull/pinch off all of the other blossoms, this tends to make the growing pumpkin bigger, as all of the plants energy can go into that one pumpkin. I don't do that though, and I always have good size pumpkins. Good luck and most of all have fun!

yes, they can get very big, and take up a bit of room. But maybe you can incorporate it into your fall decor?

I dont think we would be able to move it, as its growing right out between the crack of the driveway. I dont know how far the roots are..
People think we are crazy having a plant right there..:)
Not like we planned it.. its so odd how it happened from a dropped seed/seeds.. who would of guessed it.

LOL, I thought I bought a zuchinni plant from the store (no tag) turns out it was a cucumber plant. Never thought of growing cucumbers but now I see how easy and well they grow here. Was a good thing. I had zuchinni seeds anyways so I have a zuchinni plant growing out there which has finally flowered!
