Anyone making card using vellum as a cover?
Moms View Message Board: Arts, Crafts, Gardening and Ideas: Anyone making card using vellum as a cover?
I am making programs and plan to use vellum as a cover on the actual card. Anyone have any ideas of how to make it more formal? This is a wedding program. The inside card is a light blue parchment type paper printed on all four sides. The inside cover is names and a picture of a church. I am thinking of removing the church from the blue cover and printing it on the vellum so the card will have the church on the vellum and will show through the names. If I am making sense? Anyway any thoughts/advice is appreciated. This is my first time making cards and I am making 200! Yvonne
That sounds very nice! The vellum is just going on the front right? Maybe punch a couple holes in the top of the program and tie with a ribbon that is the light blue color. (or if there are two colors for the wedding, maybe use the other color) You could also emboss (in white or light blue) a heart or a cross (not sure which religion ) on one of the corners.
Yes the Vellum is going on the front--actually it is folded over the inside card so it is front and back. I found pretty blue ribbon I will use to tie around them both todether on the spine of the card. Can you emboss on vellum? I would think it would melt?
I never thought of it melting......I didn't think it would. I have a piece here, I will try today and see what happens. But, if you're going to print the church on the vellum, you probably wouldn't want to add the embossing to it. That might be too much? I really like the church idea. I'm still going to try the embossing on vellum today. I'll post back and let you know what happens! I love this crafty board
Thanks Mommyathome! I love the board too. It's a great way to bounce ideas off others---sparks more creativity!
Ok, I tried the embossing on vellum and it worked great! The vellum wasn't affected by the heat at all. Just like regular paper It really looked pretty.
THANK YOU!!! I will try it. Maybe I can emboss the church
