First week--so far
Moms View Message Board: Parenting Children with Special Needs: First week--so far
I thought I'd update you on how Robin's new school is going so far. He didn't go Monday because he was sick. Tuesday and Wednesday he said he did really well. They get point cards and can earn up to a specific number of points depending on which card they have--white, blue or gold (from lowest to highest). Tuesday he got all the points he could on the white card so Wednesday they gave him a gold card and he got all but 3 points. I guess their system to graduate is 10 weeks on gold with no problems. I talked to his counselor today and he said he's met with Robin twice. Dh, Robin and I meet with him in two weeks for a group session. Anyway, while I'm glad Robin's done well there, he's been an absolute monster when he gets home! I know he's probably holding it all together as much as he can during the day and just letting it out when he gets home, but if he keeps it up I may snap! He actually threw a couple of punches at Randy last night (Randy did instigate it, but still). Then of course 3 hours later they're playing and ganging up on me. Brothers... So that's how it's going so far. One more day this week, only four days next week (Monday off for parent/teacher conferences), then a full week and then the week of Thanksgiving off. Let's see if he makes it through November. Thanx for all the support so far. You gals have been awesome.
Sounds good...hope it continues. I have to say this is the most difficult thing for me. Just when it seems all is good, give it a month and all heck breaks loose! We are having medication issues once again. My child was the dream child starting school, with a new med, 8 weeks later, allergic reaction, no meds. He got in his first school fight this week
I'm sorry, Kim. I hate the med game. I hope it goes easily for you. Hugs
