Nonverbal learning disability

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Children with Special Needs: Nonverbal learning disability

This is now a possibility for my son (in addition to his many other issues). Asperger's has officially been ruled out. Does anyone have any good websites, or know of any great books to read on this topic- including identification. I understand it's not that easy to ID. Thanks.

I know I have read stuff, but not whole books, do a google search, or search amazon, you will be lucky if you find a chapter in a book. I think the main difference between the two, is they are both issues with social skills, like understanding body language, proximity, following face clues, etc. But with Aspergers their really can be so much more, like sensory issues, lack of a sense of humor, a lot more perseverance, etc. Good luck!

THanks. I'll check it out. BTW- he DOES have sensory issues and perseveration (that's OCD though- we think). He also has a ton of other dx's. He DOES have a sense of humor though- a great one.

That's a great site! I had seen it before, actually, but didn't realize you could scroll down on the right! I didn't think they had much to offer. Wow, was I wrong! Thanks for helping me to revisit it! :)
