I bought it for myself used, but never used it. I am not sure I could figure out how to play it. I am really a computer game person. Some how it looks like he know what he is doing. He is up to over $250,000. Very strange....

Actually there is so much talking it it, it should be good for him....

I had to delete The Sims from our computer. The dk's loved it, heck I even loved it, but I was concerned that the more stuff and money the people had, the happier they were. Not exactly the message I want to send. I don't know if the theme parks are the same.

Good point Colette.

I was playing this with DS. Kinda neat.
You start out with a certain amount of money to build a theme park with all sorts of rides.

Little boys and girls arrive on a bus to ride the rides and buy hamburgers and drinks (you build refreshment stands as well).

One neat feature allows you to actually ride the rides with the other boys and girls and walk around the park. I think that's what DS likes most.

For older kids (like me), the details of hiring people (mechanics, janitors, etc), deciding where to place rides, bathrooms and how many burger and drink places you should build to turn a profit keeps my interest...lol

My son loves these type games, esp Theme Park, Zoo Tycoon and SimsCity. He started playing them before he could read which I thought was interesting. He just figured out how it worked by trial and error.

I haven't gotten him any of the regular Sims games because of the sexual themes that come up.

I like to play them, too. I think they are quite educational.

I wondered about that. My dd's friends are playing Sims and I read a review about couples needing to "woo hoo" to get pregnant. I was wondering just how graphic that might be :) Has anyone played the new version that knows?

I have played the first two PS2 versions. Not appropriate for young kids, there is no real nudity or profanity but you do french kiss, it is a tiny bit racy so I wouldnt recommend until young teen age.

The theme park doesn't seem to have nudity or sex or relationships. It is just building a theme park and things break down. What rides to put on.
