Biscuits
Ok..I could not really find heading for this, but I hope this is a correct spot. I was wondering if anyone had a wonderful recipe for biscuits, I LOVE them at Crackel Barrel..yum. I need a good moist, fluffy recipe, mine always turn out rock hard and DH laughs his butt off.. but so do I. Any good biscuit makers out there...come on, brag on yourself if your good.
I just use the Bisquik recipe on the box. *blushing* Sorry I'm not any help.
that's okay I'll bump for 1 more try to get a recipe, then I'll quit.
I would like to have a good recipe too! So I'll be interested to see the recipes you get! Wish I could help. I buy the canned biscuits.
More *blushing*...I use Bob Evans frozen ones from the grocery store!
Maybe this will help? Copycat Cracker Barrel biscuits

Thanks Michele and ladies, I guess that will have to work. BTW, there is nothing wrong with bisquick.;) Just can't figure out why my mom can make biscuits yummy, soft and fluffy from scratch (or whatever) but then when she tries to tell me how to do it, mine taste like I went out and got a rock and put it in the oven. Go figure.
I found this from my favorite Food Channel show, Good Eats with Alton Brown. (I LOVE that show!) It looks good. Also, make sure your baking powder and baking soda are fresh. Baking powder should fizz a bit in warm water, and baking powder should get foamy in an acid, such as lemon juice or vinegar. And, overmixing will produce hard biscuits. HTH (Let us know if you try it!) http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_151,00.html (Sorry, you'll have to cut & paste the address. The hyperlink wouldn't work due to the comma in the URL.)
Thanks I will try it and let you know, it did have several good reviews, who knows, maybe it will be wonderful, here's hoping!
I found this and it looks so good. Not tried and true by me but I hear awesome things about these! Awesome Biscuits!!! These biscuits are very similar to the ones that you get at Red Lobster restaurants. They are light, fluffy and AWESOME! Ingredients: * 1 cup shredded, sharp cheddar cheese * 1/4 cup butter * 1/2 cup water * 2 cups of Bisquick * 1 tablespoon parsley flakes * 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees 2. In a large bowl, combine Bisquick, water, and cheese until thoroughly mixed 3. Spoon mix onto cookie sheet at least 1 inch apart 4. Melt butter, parsley flakes, and garlic powder together 5. Pour or brush buttery mixture over top of biscuits 6. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until tops are golden brown
