Now my BF has to go!

Moms View Message Board: The Fox Hole (War-Related Discussion): The Yellow Ribbon ( Post names of family/friends in the war.): Now my BF has to go!

My best friend e-mailed me yesterday and said that she is going to be activated In December. She is going on a voluntary two month tour in Germany first, leaving this Thurs (28th), but then I guess she will be back for about a month and then she has to go to the desert. She does not know where she will be going yet, all she said is that her name is on the list and that they have ordered their desert uniforms. She is a med tech in the Air Force, but I am not sure what rank she is. In Germany she works at a base where there is a major hospital that they fly soldiers in from all over the world. (name any military wives? I can't remember.) All she has to do is pick up the people from the planes and drive them to the hospital. Simple huh? I hope things are that easy for her in the desert. J I will keep you posted. In the meantime, I hope no one else I know is activated!

Best of Luck for her. Hopefully she will have a safe, quick return. My DH should be home in about 3 weeks after being gone 7 months. Hmmmm... though her job seems fairly easy, i'm kinda jealous.

(((Hugs)))

There is not much to say in situations like these. Just to pray that she remains safe and returns soon. My husband will also be home in 3 weeks, I feel like I've been waiting forever.

It's nice to have people here who understand what it is like to actually have loved ones over there. Other than my family, nobody I know has anyone over there! It is kind of weird actually. Maybe it is because I live in the Twin Cities and there aren't really any big active bases around here. Mostly everyone I know is a reservist. You guys are really brave to be married to active duty military men. How do you do it? I would be so lonely. I guess you get used to it, huh? Anyway, tell those boys THANK YOU! for all of their brave service. They don't hear it enough.
