Hi Everybody!! I am new to Momsview and wanted to introduce myself. I am a work at home mom. I am busy with one very demanding profession, CPA, and am trying to start a new one that might be less stress for me and way less working till wee hours of the morning doing taxes. We have four great children, 12,7,5 & 1. Our oldest has severe MR and autism. He is at a special school about 3 1/2 hours from us. We live in a very small, remote town and felt the school wasn't able to provide for his needs. So unfortunately he is not living with us at this time. We could not move with him because my husband farms and we couldn't move the land (I wish). We do see him at least once a month, usally more. As I was surfing the net I found Momsview and specifically the area about the special needs kids. Saw some posts that pertained to us and wanted to make some new friends.
This board looked so friendly and inviting!!
So hi again and looking forward to new friendships.

Welcome to the board, Laura!! I'm Marcia, and I'm one of the moms with kids with special needs. I have been blessed to mother 7 kids, ages 13, 12, 12, 12, 10, forever 21 and forever 3. I am a specialized care foster mom, and 4 of those 7 kids have come to me through this program. Six of my 7 have/had special needs, varying from learning differences to requiring complete care in all areas of daily living. We all live in Ontario, Canada.
I think you'll find this a great place to be to chat with other moms!

Yeah, hasn't been too warm in WI, either. This week is supposed to be warmer. We vacationed in South Dakota this past summer. My first time, ever, to be that far west, in the US!
