Moms View Message Board: New to Moms View? Introduce Yourself!: Lets *REIGNITE* momsview 2010!
HI! My name is Tammy - I'm brand new here. I have daughters - 3 of them! Ages 17, 13 &8. I've been married for 20 years. I'm from Western NY – SKI COUNTRY! We just took our oldest daughter to California PA to check out a college this week! My Gosh - how time flies! I cried the whole way there! It’s gonna be hard – but also interesting to see how our family dynamic changes with our younger 2 at home with us once Jami is off to college. I’m not sure how I’m going to handle all of this! I need some support & guidance! I'd like to check in & maybe make some new friends & get some great information here. Liven things up a bit. From some of the older posts I've read - looks like there used to be alot of Great, caring & knowledgeable people here at one time. Hopefully we can get some Moms to come back & have some great new discussions! I've been using many of the coupons on this site for some time now but never had the extra time to introduce myself on the discussion board or join in. However I've recently taken a leave of absence from my 19 year career and have TONS of time to chat! Just need some fun ladies to chat with! So if anyone is checking in - please write me back! Lets get some fun discussions going. I'm up for anything! I've got the same problems & day to day struggles as most women do: Housework, Exercise, Weight loss, DINNERS?!, shopping, Kids, Raising GIRLS!!!, Hubby hassles, older parent anxieties, Money woes, Sleep distress, Sexual insecurities, Make up & Hair questions & tips. I would LOVE to get to know some women and make some new friends. One topic I’d like to start is I’d really like to know what kind of products or brands that other women are trying and LIKING or trying and HATING so that we can either save the money or hassle of product testing & failure for ourselves! From laundry soap to nail polish to clothing brands and non-stick pans! Like a 2 thumbs up kind of thing. Anyone else interested in Reigniting this message discussion board & checking in on a daily basis to talk & share & bond with some other Moms & women? Help me out Girls! I’m In – Are you? *Hugs* Tammy
WE are going to get that fancy new board too.
Feona - I'm really looking forward to it!
Everything takes forever here....
Hi Tammy, Great you're here. I'm originally from western New York. Definitely snow country. I usually check in on the board late at night when everyone else here is asleep. Love your energy and love sharing with other moms. We need each other. Look forward to connecting with you on the momsview board (new or current) Linda
Hey Linda! It's really great to meet you! We are on different schedules I think! My best time is during the day while my kids are in school. The night time is when I'll be busier with the family & my daughters are usually on the computer doing their thing! I really look forward to talking to you more & getting to know the others here. I don't know how much advice or help I have to offer - but I have a great ear & I'm very understanding Hugs * Tammy
I think you two live near each other or maybe not. New York is so big.
Hi Tammy ! My family is from NY too .... but I've only visited there .... My oldest is 16, college is still a bit away, but it comes REAL fast ..... he's SERIOUSLY into baseball, hoping for a scholarship. He's at a small school, but we're crossing our fingers and toes on that one (prayer doesn't hurt either!) My daughter would probably love to join your family, there are now only us two girls with five guys in the house, we tend to get outmanned, hahaha ! I have to work on her getting "girl time" .... But no matter what, each family has it's challenges and we grow from them, hopefully into stronger families ..... that being said, I'm sure my daughter would trade some of these challenges for a house full of girls painting their toenails every Fri night ! :} ~harlena
Hi Harlena! Yes we are Estrogen Alley here! My poor DH is sooo outnumbered! Your daughter would have a field day here - polish in every shade under the sun with stickers and gems to match! But - I have to tell you - I am jealous - I hear that boys are cheaper & easier ...of course I wouldn't know! But I can tell you between clothes, shoes, sandals, dress shoes, dresses, special dances, make-up, perfume, hair things, hair maintenance, girl "necessities", and the list goes on & on...it is not cheap!! But I have to say I wouldn't trade them in for anything! I enjoy having Girls days with them But I often wonder if DH misses having a son...I LOVE it though. I REALLY hope your son gets that Basketball scholarship though Harlena. That would be a TREMENDOUS help. Jami is in the top 10 of her class and on the National Honor Society...but still that's not a whole lot of help. You have to be in the top 5 or even 1st or 2nd to really get much. Especially if your a hard working family with parents who make a substantial amount of money. Then your really screwed Oh well - her first lesson learned right out of the gate!
