Aunt Margaret was 102 years young this year - a more spritely, humor filled, cheerful, impish 4 ft. 11inch free spirit there has never been. As a Sister Marian Joseph, she was a Holy Cross nun for over 75 years. She said her husband was "the king of the world" and she served him with joy here.

To most of us we didn't know much about her credentials - we only knew her heart and her humble service - her humor and loving support and faithfulness. At her memorial at St.Mary's (across from NotreDame) mother house we learned that she was a woman educated far beyond her time - college in the 1930's, masters degree, serving in texas towns to build schools for poor mexican children. She was gifted in math, science, music theory.

She has over 60 nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces and great grand nephews as well as countless numbers of admirers like me - we didn't know about the credentials, we only knew her as Aunt Margaret and we are forever grateful for that gift.

Wow! What a legacy! She was so sweet too. I guess God finally brought her home. She must be thrilled now.

Its so true. She couldn't wait to meet her maker -literally. At 85 she went back to school to learn about computers so she could teach her whole order. Her inquisitive mind was only surpassed by her cheerful sense of humor and her delight in people.
