This usually is a topic area for mourning and celebration of lives but somehow it seemed like the best place to post for a season of repentance and looking forward to new life.

Today is Ash Wednesday for many congregations around the country. Beginning of a season of putting things aside and reflecting on spiritual life. Many people have celebrated with Mardi Gras, Carnivale, Shrove/Fat Tuesday. For many there are childhood memories.
