ER visit
B (8) went to a bowling birthday party today. I usually stay for parties due to her severe nut allergies, but I know the hosting mom and felt comfortable leaving for a little while to run errands. Of course I left my cell phone number. Good thing! I got a call from the host mom informing me B dropped a bowling ball on her finger and was bleeding. I ran in, took a look and knew it would require medical attention. Thankfully no broken bones but many stitches because her finger is split the entire length. It's her right pointer and she's a righty. My poor little girl! She was a trooper but it obviously hurt a lot. I started to feel faint just watching her. On the way home from the hospital we asked her where she wanted to eat for dinner. "McDonald's!" Yuck, but after such a hard day we figured she earned it. *Heavy Sigh*
Aaah, poor thing!!!! What a little trooper she is!
Poor thing. I imagine that DID hurt! Yuck, that's gonna be tough to deal with!
Awww, I am so sorry to hear that!!! That sounds so painful!! Yes, she definitely earned her McDonald's dinner. Hope she heals quickly!!
Owww. Poor thing! I can imagine how bad that hurt. I hope she has a quick recovery!
Youch!!! Poor B. Give her a hug from all of us. Hugs to you too, mom.
Oh no! I hope it heals quickly for her. What a tough cookie!
Wow, what a day! Here's hoping for a quick recovery!
Awww The one time you decide to leave, and then this happens. That's the way it always works out, isn't it? Hope she if feeling better soon! At least it's the weekend and she has a couple of days to recover and practice writing with all those stitches before going back to school.
Ouch! Poor kid. Hope that feels better soon. School is going to be a challenge for a few days!
Poor B!!!!!! I hope she isn't in too much pain while she recovers!!!!!
How is she feeling, today? I hope she's not in too much pain.
Thanks for the well wishes, everyone. Things are not going so well today. DH and I spent an hour just trying to take the gauze off so that we could change the dressing. The intern wrapped the entire wound (with stitches) with stretch gauze, and of course it's stuck. We tried wetting it, which worked until we got down to the last layer. At that point B was screaming with pain. Our nerves were frazzled so DH just took her to the Walk-In clinic so they can clean and change the dressing. Hopefully they will put a cover sponge over the wound, or anything that won't stick to the stitches, so that the gauze won't get stuck again. Ten more days of this.... Argh.
Oh gosh, I hope it gets better soon!! That has got to hurt, poor baby!!
