Egg Safety
Did you know hard boiled eggs shouldn't be left out (not refrigerated) for more than two hours? More egg tips and safety info... USA Today - Easter Eggs Safety Alerts.com - Eggs
Thanks Trina. We are really asking for trouble on Easter. We're having a huge egg hunt, then eating cold fried chicken, potato salad, and macaroni salad. I'm morbidly curious as to how many of us will be sick by Monday AM! Happy Easter!
We were talking about this at work yesterday. As a kid, we used to hunt for real eggs in the yard or in the house, then eat them later! I guess I'm amazed I've lived through my dangerous childhood (no seatbelts, no bike helmets...) I'm not advocating that, I'm just amazed that there's anyone over 40 walking around today. Of course, there'd probably be more of us if we'd done everything we do for our children now...
Author Pat McManus has a theory on that kind of thing...such as cholesterol (sp) wasn't invented yet, etc. He's really funny.
I have this old ad for a Fridgedaire refridgerator from a 1957 Better Homes & Gardens magazine that I'm going to frame..anyway, I was looking at the back of it and there was an ad for Hellman's mayonaise, telling how much better it was than salad dressing (creamier, thicker, etc). On TV I saw a commercial telling how Miracle Whip salad dressing had so much less fat than mayonaise (which is creamier, thicker, etc)...funny how opinions change!
We're doing our hunt with little plastic eggs and candy. I don't want to take a chance on an egg not being found until July! Ame
